Mortgage broker

Construction glossary
  1. A broker who represents numerous lenders and helps consumers find affordable mortgages; the broker charges a fee only if the consumer finds a loan.

  2. A company or individual that places mortgage loans with lenders, but does not originate or service loans like a mortgage banker.

  3. A mortgage broker shops several lenders, acting as a middle man between lending institutions and the borrower. a broker can compare mortgages from several different institutions, giving the borrower a better deal.

  4. A person or company having contacts with financial institutions or individuals wishing to invest in mortgages.
