  1. Depth of field

  2. Depth of field. a measure of the permissible distance within which an object remains in acceptable, though not perfect, focus. calculations of dof assume that an imperfectly focused “circle of confusion” smaller than 0.20 to 0.25 mm is indistinguishable from perfect focus in an image viewed from a normal distance. this is approximately equivalent to 0.03 mm in the case of an image on 35 mm film or ff format.

Depth of field, английский
  1. The distance between the nearest and furthermost object in a scene which appear in sharp focus. depth of field varies depending on the f-stop and focal length of a lens. depth of field increases when the f-stop is greater, the focal length shorter or the

  2. В регионах, спереди и сзади на расстоянии, где сосредоточено на изображение остается в центре фокуса. любая точка любой другой плоскости пространства будет отображаться пятном нерезкости. чем больше диаметр такого пятна, тем нерезче объект. считается, что

  4. The in-focus range of a lens or optical system. it is measured from the distance behind an object to the distance in front of the object when the viewing lens shows the object to be in focus.

  5. The area in front of and behind the object in focus that appears sharp on the

  6. The regions in front of and behind the focused distance where the image remains in focus. with a greater the depth of field, more of the scene near to far is in focus. lens aperture and scene lighting will greatly influence the d.o.f.

  7. Distance between the nearest and farthest points in a scene that are in focus as viewed by a particular lens. affected by choice of lens focal length and iris aperture. increases with both decreasing lens focal length and decreasing iris aperture.

  8. Depth of field (dof) the range of sharp focus. controlled by the focal length and aperture opening of the lens. a large aperture yields shallow dof. smaller apertures yield deeper dof. here`s an online dof calculator (be sure to follow the directions when calculating the dof for your digital camera`s lens -it is not calculated using the 35mm equivalent (i.e. 35-105mm) focal length often quoted in our reviews -you must use the real focal length of the smaller digital lens. the site linked above has a listing of popular cameras and their real lens specifications.)

  9. The area in front of and behind the object in focus that appears sharp on the screen. the depth of field increases with the decrease of the focal length, i.e., the shorter the focal length the wider the depth of field. the depth of field is always wider behind the objects in focus.

  10. The working range of the beam in or near the focal plane of a lens; a function of wavelength, diameter of the unfocused beam, and focal length of the lens.

  11. The area in front of and behind the plane of focus in the scene which is acceptably sharp (for intended enlargement). tip: a little more depth requires a lot more light (for smaller stop) or a wider-angle lens. don`t call it depth of focus, a related but different matter.

  12. The zone, or range of distances within a scene that will record on film as sharp. depth of field is influenced by the focal length of the lens in use, the f-number setting on the lens, and the distance from the camera to the subject. it can be shallow or deep, and can be totally controlled by the photographer. it is one of the most creative and profound effects available to photographers.

  13. (dof). the range of items in focus in an image. this is controlled by the focal length and aperture opening of a lens. a large or wide aperture gives a shallow depth of field (not much range in focus) and a smaller or narrow aperture give a large depth of field (more range in focus).

  14. Глубина резко изображаемого пространства

  15. The measurement of the area in front of and behind the subject that is in focus.

  16. The range of distance over which an imaging system gives satisfactory definition when its lens is in the best focus for a specific distance. compare depth of focus; field of view.

  17. Диапазон расстояний, на котором система формирования изображений обеспечивает удовлетворительную четкость, когда ее объектив находится в наилучшей фокусировке на определенном расстоянии. сравните глубину фокуса; поле зрения.

  18. In photography, the range of distance over which an imaging system gives satisfactory definition when its lens is in the best focus for a specific distance.

  19. In photography or thermography, the range of distance over which an imaging system gives satisfactory definition when its lens is in the best focus for a specific distance.1

  20. See depth of focus.

  21. Focal zone.
