A measure of how frequently a test is positive when a particular disease is present. generally given as a percentage of individuals with a given disease who have a positive test result. ideally, a test should have a sensitivity of 100%, i.e., the test should always give a positive result when the patient has the particular disease. clsi prefers the term true positive ratio, tpr.
