A method validation experiment in which a series of patient samples are analyzed both by the test method (the one under study) and a comparison method (an established method). the purpose is to assess whether a systematic difference (i.e., bias or inaccuracy) exists between the two methods. the differences in results by the two methods are interpreted as analytical errors between the methods.
