Фреза

Глоссарий по металлообработке
  1. Вращающийся режущий инструмент с режущими кромками вдоль спиральной резьбы, применяемый для прорезки зубьев на цилиндрических заготовках. фреза и заготовка вращаются в соответствии друг другу, и фреза подается соосно или тангенциально к продольному или поперечному направлению заготовки. фрезу не следует путать с мультирезьбовой фрезой и другими подобными инструментами, где режущие кромки не находятся вдоль спиральной резьбы.

  2. (от франц . fraise), режущий многолезвийный инструмент в виде тела вращения с зубьями для фрезерования. бывают цилиндрические, торцовые, червячные и др. материал режущей части - быстрорежущая сталь, твердый сплав или композит. в деревообработке известна фреза в виде цепи - фрезерная цепь из закаленной инструментальной стали.

  3. (от франц . fraise - брыжи), воротник из ткани или кружев, уложенных в мелкую складку и очень туго накрахмаленных для сохранения формы. вошел в европейскую моду в нач. 16 в.

  4. Вращающийся режущий инструмент, обладающий одним или большим количеством режущих элементов, называемых зубьями, которые периодически входят в зацепление заготовок и удаляют материал при перемещении относительно заготовки.

A horizontal bar attached to the rudderhead and used to steer the vessel. as the size of sailing warships increased, the power needed to control the rudder became excessive and a helm (or wheel) was used to move the tiller with the mechanical advantage of a steering mechanism of ropes and pulleys. when this mechanism suffered battle damage, the tiller had to be moved manually and even with tackles the effort was prodigious. it took thirty men heaving to port and the same number to starboard to turn the rudder of a first-rate such as hms victory. see also steering evolution.

  10. An arm attached to the top of the rudder to steer a small boat. if the helmsman wants to steer to starboard, he pushes the tiller to port. larger boats usually use a wheel instead of a tiller.
