Affreightment, английский
- The hiring of a ship in whole or part
- A contract for the letting the vessel, or a part of her for freight. (see contract of affreightment.)
- An expression used to describe a contract in which a shipowner (sometimes known as the “carrier”) agrees to carry the goods of a shipper (also called the freighter) on a specified voyage or over admiralship 20 a period of time in return for payment of a specific price (sometimes called freight). see also charter party.
