- Since color in the scanned images of colored documents is rarely even, a threshold value is often needed when defining colors for individual fields. the threshold value determines the size of the range of colors that entrance will accept in relation to the reference color. on a scale of 0-100, a value of zero will only accept exact matches of the reference color, whereas with a value of 100, will include a much broader range of colors. the default value is 50 and is sufficient in most situations.
