- Неполнота объективности человека, заинтересованного в исходе рецензирования или исследования; происходит в случаях, когда человек может извлечь финансовую или другую выгоду (продвижение по службе и т.д.) из какого-либо аспекта исследования.
- Ситуация, в которой решение должностным лицом деловых или общественных вопросов подвержено влиянию его личных интересов. примеры включают использование служебного положения в корыстных целях, (тайное) получение средств от сторонних лиц для принятия решения в их пользу, использование общественного имущества в личных целях, незаконное использование конфиденциальной информации и работа по совместительству с заинтересованным лицом. если лицо, принимающее решение, имеет личный интерес, то он или она не должны участвовать в обсуждениях этих вопросов.
