Рукав из плотной ткани (парусины, брезента), охватывающий мачту в районе палубы. верхняя часть брюканца крепится к мачте бугелем или тросовым хомутом, нижняя прибивается к палубе. назначение брюканца — не допустить попадания в трюм воды, стекающей по мачте во время дождя[20].
