Used in data mining to denote groupings of attributes. for example, the set of all 2-itemsets in a database, would be the set of all pairs of attributes. in the mining of association rules, interest is usually focused on kitemsets where all k elements are true, and a "large" number of cases exist. the number (or proportion) of cases in an itemset is referred to as the "support" for the itemset.
