Overcut, английский
- An allowance added to the nominal dimension of an unseasoned board to compensate for shrinkage during drying.
- The process of producing a larger size hole than the outside diameter of the bit and/or reaming shell used, due to the eccentric rotational movements of a bit, core barrel, or drill stem.
- A staple fiber that is longer than nominal length. usually, the length is a multiple of 2, 3, or more times the nominal length. an overcut is caused by the failure of filaments to be cut to the desired length during staple manufacture.
- The theoretical difference between the radial measurement of the gauge cut and the mtbm shield; equal to (gauge cut od – mtbm od)/2. actual overcut is reduced as the gauge cutter is worn and because of the differential cut.
