- The progressive failure of a machine or lubricant.
- Disintegration of a paint film by heat, moisture, sunlight, or natural causes.

- A substance which makes oxygen less damaging, e.g. in the body or in foods or plastics antioxidant vitamins
- A substance to retard deterioration (of fiber, fabrics, finishes, etc.) resulting from reaction with oxygen.
- You can find sources of antioxidants pretty much anywhere in nature�berries, grapes, nuts, plants, and more. when used in skincare, antioxidants protect your skin by preventing or slowing cellular damage. they also combat free-radicals (more on those below), which damage your skin which leads to hyperpigmentation, loss of elasticity, and premature aging.
- A chemical added in small quantities to a petroleum product to increase its oxidative resistance in order to prolong its service life.
- An additive to retard oxygen-related deterioration, especially oxidation of lubricants (see inhibitors). anti-seize compounds (pipe dope): grease-like substances with graphite, molybdenum disulfide and metallic particles dispersed throughout, primarily to prevent seizure on threaded joints.
