- , в узком, исторически сложившемся в русском языке значении небольшое сельское поселение (более мелкие носили название выселков, починков, хуторов, заимок и т. д.; см. также село). в широком значении понятие деревня охватывает весь комплекс социальных, экономических, культурно-бытовых, природно-географических особенностей и условий жизни деревни как социально-экономической категории, отличной от города.
