The ftse techmark index brings together all listed technology companies in one dedicated market. it includes businesses from ftse 100 giants to ftse minnows. to be included in the index, a company needs to be committed to technological innovation. unemployment is also broken down into structural and cyclical. cyclical unemployment occurs when the economy slows and therefore should decline when growth picks up. structural unemployment is more serious and occurs when an industry has gone into terminal decline — coal mining in the uk, for example.
