Cladding mode

Fiber Optic Glossary
A mode confined to the cladding; a light ray that propagates in the cladding.

Cladding, английский
  1. The outer part of a fibre optics cable. the cladding is less dense than the central core, and acts as an optical barrier to prevent the transmitted signal from leaking away from the core.

  2. The external covering or skin of walls of a building. timber cladding includes natural or treated timber boards, and plywood.

  4. The outer part of a fiber optics cable, which is also a fiber but with a smaller material

  5. The outer part of a fiber optics cable, which is also a fiber but with a smaller material density than the center core. it enables a total reflection effect so that the light transmitted through the internal core stays inside. 8 / 43

  6. The low refractive index material, usually glass, that surrounds and protects the core and provides the optical refractive barrier

  7. The layer of glass or other transparent material surrounding the light-carrying core of an optical fiber. it has a lower refractive index than the core and thus confines light in the core. coatings may be applied over the cladding. material that surrounds the core of an optical fiber. its lower index of refraction, compared to that of the core, causes the transmitted light to travel down the core. this is glass or plastic, having a low refractive index, that surrounds the core of a fiber. optical cladding promotes total internal reflection for the propagation of light in a fiber.

  10. A process wherein a metallic coating is applied to a base metal by simultaneously rolling the base metal and the cladding material.

Cladding, английский

Cladding (elements), английский

Cladding mode stripper, английский

Cladding mode strippers, английский
Devices which can remove light from a fiber cladding

Cladding modes, английский
Modes in optical fibers (or other waveguides) which are not restricted to the region around the core

Cladding rail, английский

Cladding surface, английский

Cladding surface center, английский

Cladding surface diameter, английский

Cladding, 3., английский

Cladding:, английский
  1. A covering of material(s) fastened or anchored in front of the masonry and not in general bonded to it

  2. The part of the building which provides a weatherpro of membrane. generally cladding will only carry self weight and/or wind actions

Mode, английский

  3. For lists, the mode is a most common (frequent) value. a list can have more than one mode. for histograms, a mode is a relative maximum ("bump").

  5. A term used to describe how the power of a laser beam is geometrically distributed across the cross section of the beam. also used to describe the operating mode of a laser such as continuous or pulsed.

  6. An electromagnetic field distribution that satisfied theoretical requirements for propagation in a waveguide or oscillation in a cavity (e.g., a laser). light has modes in a fiber or laser. a single electromagnetic wave traveling in a fiber.

  7. A way of doing things. exposure modes are pre-programmed, user-selectable ways of controlling the readings from the exposure system to meet certain subject or picture conditions. these include aperture-priority mode, shutter-priority mode, program-depth mode, etc. autofocusing modes allow a choice of how the camera/lens will go about autofocusing.

  9. Mid-ocean dynamics experiment.

  10. In statistics, (a) the most probable occurance in a probability distribution of possible occurances and, if the occurances are ordered, (b) the occurance that is more probable than any nearby occurance. if a distribution contains two modes by the letter definitiona it is called bimodal.

  12. The manner in which acoustic energy is propagated through a material as characterized by the particle motion of the wave.

  13. The value that occurs most often in a series of numbers

  14. The value that occurs most often in a series of numbers in the following series of numbers, 8 is the mode: 6, 5, 8, 3, 7, 8, 9, 8, 4

Mode (statistic),

Mode 1 and mode 2, английский

Mode byte, английский

Mode c, английский

Fan-out, английский
A multi-fiber cable constructed in a tight buffered tube design. at a termination point, cable fibers must be separated from the cable to their separate connection positions.

Microscope fiber optic inspection, английский
A microscope used to inspect the end surface of a connector for flaws or contamination or a fiber for cleave quality.
