Is an xml notation for expressing geographic annotation and visualization within internet-based, two-dimensional maps and three-dimensional earth browsers. kml was developed for use with google earth, which was originally named keyhole earth viewer. it was created by keyhole, inc, which was acquired by google in 2004. kml became an international standard of the open geospatial consortium in 2008.

Is an xml schema language for validating xml documents that integrate with multiple namespaces. it is an iso/iec standard, and it is part 4 of the dsdl schema specification. much of the work on nvdl is based on the older namespace routing language.

Is an xml language used to automate digital forensics processing. dfxml contains information about both the results of forensic processing and the tools used to perform the processing (provenance). currently there is no digital forensics xml standard and there is no fixed schema. there is a draft schema available from nist.
