Occupational dose

The dose received by an individual in a restricted area or in the course of employment in which the individual’s assigned duties involve exposure to radiation. occupational dose does not include dose received from background radiation, as a patient from medical practices, from voluntary participation in medical research programs, or as a member of the general public.

Dose, английский
  1. The quantity of energy imparted to unit mass of matter (such as tissue) by ionising radiation . unit gray (gy). {1gy = 1 joule per kilogram}. in the older (non si) units it can be shown that 1gy = 100 rads.

  2. 1. a measured quantity of a drug or radiation which is to be given to someone at one time it is dangerous to exceed the prescribed dose. 2. a short period of experiencing a minor illness (informal ) a dose of flu 3. an infection with a sexually transmitted disease (informal) verb to provide someone with medication (informal ) she has been dosing herself with laxatives.

  3. Dosis

  4. Доза dotmap, syn. dot map, dot density map

  5. Доза

  6. See absorbed dose.

Dose (for chemicals that are not radioactive), английский
The amount of a substance to which a person is exposed over some time period. dose is a measurement of exposure. dose is often expressed as milligram (amount) per kilogram (a measure of body weight) per day (a measure of time) when people eat or drink contaminated water, food, or soil. in general, the greater the dose, the greater the likelihood of an effect. an "exposure dose" is how much of a substance is encountered in the environment. an "absorbed dose" is the amount of a substance that actually got into the body through the eyes, skin, stomach, intestines, or lungs.

Dose (for radioactive chemicals), английский
The radiation dose is the amount of energy from radiation that is actually absorbed by the body. this is not the same as measurements of the amount of radiation in the environment.

Dose commitments, английский

Dose dipendente ,

Dose equivalent, английский
The product of the absorbed dose in tissue, quality factor, and all other necessary modifying factors at the location of interest. the units of dose equivalent are the rem and sievert (sv).

Dose fractionation, английский

Dose limit, английский

Dose limits, английский
With respect to radiation protection , dose limits are recommended by international bodies such as the icrp , and then set as legal limits within individual counties legislation. for example, in the uk dose limits to employees of radiation employers, memb

Dose meter, английский

Dose or radiation dose, английский
A generic term that means absorbed dose, dose equivalent, etc. and represents the total amount of radiation received during the applicable period of exposure.

Dose protraction, английский

Dose range,

Dose rate, английский
Radiation dose delivered per a specified unit of time and measured, for instance, in sieverts per minute. see also absorbed dose.

Dose rate meter, английский

Dose response curve,

Dose-effect relationschip, английский

Dose-foliar damage, английский

Dose-realated, английский

Dose-response relationship, английский
The relationship between the amount of exposure [dose] to a substance and the resulting changes in body function or health (response).

Dose-yield function, английский

Individual, английский

Restricted, английский
Placed on a list that dictates that the trader may not maintain positions, solicit business, or provide indications in a stock, but may serve as broker in agency trades after being properly cleared. traders are so restricted due to investment bank involvement with the company on nonpublic activity (i.e., mergers and acquisitions defense), affiliate ownership, or underwriting activities; signified on the quotron by a flashing "r." a restricted list and the stocks on it should never be conveyed to anyone outside of the trading areas, much less outside the firm. see: grey list.

Employment, английский

Background, английский
  1. Фон

  2. The surface area against which the pattern is contrasted. the surface area of

  3. The portion of a scene that sits behind the main, foreground subject. the background can be made sharp or unsharp through the use of selective focusing techniques and depth of field manipulation.

  13. The picture that appears in the photos hub.

  14. Formations on or signals from a test object that constitute the background to a discontinuity. the higher the level of background noise, the more difficult it is to distinguish a discontinuity. background signals may arise from visual, acoustic, chemical, electrical, or radiation sources that the sensor responds to. see also sensitivity; signal-to-noise ratio.
