1. a distortion in the weave characterized by tight and slack places in the same warp yarns. the principal causes are rolled ends on the beam, warp ends restricted by broken filament slubs, and knots catching at lease rods, drop wires, heddles, or reeds. (also see draw-back.) 2. see hard size.
