Infrared (ir)

  1. Electromagnetic radiation which occupies the band from 0.7 microns to 100 microns. infrared radiation is between the visible spectrum and microwave radiation. emission of energy as electromagnetic waves in the portion of the spectrum just beyond the limit

  2. Low frequency light below the visible spectrum. infrared is used in surveillance cameras to provide a light source to record images in dark and zero light conditions.

  3. Infrared (ir) cameras feature built-in illuminators that project infrared light, which is nearly invisible to the human eye but very visible to ir surveillance cameras. this technology allows you to capture crystal clear, black and white video of suspects who feel protected by complete darkness. ir cameras are very effective in covering targeted areas with little or no light, ranging from exterior parking areas and entryways, to interior rooms requiring 24 hour surveillance. for coverage of wider areas, consider adding an additional external infrared illuminator.

  4. Light with wavelengths longer than 700nm and shorter than about 1mm, invisible to the human eye, which we can feel as heat. glass optical fibers transmit infrared signals at 700 to about 1650nm in the infrared.

Infrared, английский
  1. Infrared. the electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than about 700 nm and not visible to the human eye.

  4. Industries, incorporated

  5. That portion of the electromagnetic spectrum just below visible light; infrared radiation has a wavelength from 800 nm to about 1mm. fiber-optic transmission is predominantly in the near-infrared region, about 800 to 1600 nm.

  6. Light wavelengths extending from 770 nm on

  7. Electromagnetic energy usually defined as heat in the invisible part of the

  8. A portion of the electromagnetic spectrum to which the human eye is not sensitive but which can be used with infrared film and filter to record images of unusual tonal balance. infrared rays produce heat when they strike objects. see: heat filter.

  9. Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than visible light, but shorter than microwave radiation.

  10. That region of the electromagnetic spectrum at wavelengths immediately above the visible spectrum; the heat in this region of the spectrum which is generated by a light source usually is undesirable (since it represents a loss in efficiency), but such heat is used in industrial applications for drying, baking a surface, etc.

  11. Invisible electromagnetic radiation between light and radio waves

  12. Beyond infrared, referring to radiation with frequency lower than, and wavelength greater than, that of the color red. see infrared radiation.

Infrared (adj), английский
Having a frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum in the range just below that of red light.

Infrared (ir) spectroscopy, английский
A technique in which infrared light is passed through matter and some of the light is absorbed by inciting molecular vibration. the difference between the incident and the emitted radiation reveals structural and functional data about the molecule.

Infrared acquisition (aid),

Infrared active homing,

Infrared alternate head,

Infrared amplification by- stimulated, английский
Emission of radiation

Infrared analysis, английский
A form of absorption spectroscopy that identifies organic functional groups present in a used oil sample by measuring their light absorption at specific infrared wavelengths; absorbance is proportional to concentration. the test can indicate additive depletion, the presence of water, hydrocarbon contamination of a synthetic lubricant, oxidation, nitration, and glycol contamination from coolant. fourier transform infrared (ftir) permits the generation of complex curves from digitally represented data.

Infrared and thermal testing, английский
Nondestructive testing that uses heat diffusion and infrared radiation as interrogating energy.

Infrared astronomy explorer,

Infrared atmospheric sounding interferometer, английский

Infrared bomb,

Infrared brazing, английский

Infrared connection, английский
A way to wirelessly connect computers and devices, using infrared light to send information.

Infrared counter-countermea- sure,

Infrared countermeasure, английский

Infrared data association, английский

  2. The industry organization of computer, component, and telecommunications vendors who have established the standards for infrared communication between computers and peripheral devices such as printers.

Infrared device, английский
A computer, or a computer peripheral such as a printer, that can communicate using infrared light.

Infrared diode, английский

Infrared drying, английский
Drying by use of infrared lamps to decrease drying time.

Electromagnetic, английский

Surveillance, французский

Conditions, английский
  1. The terms of surrender.

  7. The body of knowledge about, and the systematic study of, methods, techniques and hardware applied in the adaptation of the physical environment to man`s needs and wants. the application of scientific knowledge to build or improve the infrastructure of agriculture, industry government and daily life. (technology must not be confused with the very infrastructure it generates). technology has autocatalytic properties. it favores the use of technical devices and processes even in solving social problems, e.g., by using fertilizers to enhance agricultural production rather than a different form of work organization, by using computers for national planning rather than decentralized decision making processes.
