- Это крупное естественное скопление льда, образовавшегося из атмосферных твердых осадков в течение длительного времени выше границы снеговой линии и, главным образом, в гор- ных районах. в зависимости от условий образования, формы и размеров выделяют ледники горные и по- кровные. 36 покровные ледники отличаются значительным площадным распространением и большой мощностью. к ним относят ледники антарктиды, гренландии, островов северного ледовитого океана. горные ледники имеют значительно меньшие площади и распространены в горных рай- онах. геологическая деятельность ледников заключается в образовании ледниковых форм рельефа таких как кары, цирки, троги и отложении ледниковых образований в виде морен. лёсс - обломочная осадочная порода (подробнее см. обломочные осадочные породы). лимонит (бурый железняк - fe2o3·nh2o) - минерал. твердость 4,0-5,5, при выветривании снижается до 1,0. образует аморфные почковидные натечные, иногда пористые землистые массы. цвет бурый и черный, обычно с ржавыми пятнами и налетами, что является наиболее характер- ным признаком. тяжелый, удельный вес 2,7-4,3. линия падения – линия в плоскости кровли или подошвы пласта, крыла складки (слоя, жилы и т.п.). перпендикулярна к линии простирания, направлена вниз по падению пласта, крыла склад- ки (слоя, жилы) или плоскости разрыва.
