- Technology used for flat screen displays.
- Lcd screens, usually found on the rear of digital cameras, allow you to preview and review photographs you are about to take or have taken. lcds utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. an electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so light cannot pass through them. each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light and producing an image in color or monochrome.

(technology must not be confused with the very infrastructure it generates). technology has autocatalytic properties. it favores the use of technical devices and processes even in solving social problems, e.g., by using fertilizers to enhance agricultural production rather than a different form of work organization, by using computers for national planning rather than decentralized decision making processes.

Auto iris, английский
Security cameras with auto iris, have the ability to compensate for large variations in light levels. this is useful for security cameras that need to adjust for changes from bright sunlight to darkness or night. auto iris circuitry is normally linked to a motorized drive that opens and shuts the iris on the camera lens. closing a physical iris is a much better way to protect a camera from being damaged by bright sunlight then simply using electronics to reduce the signal strength.
