Cпособ нормирования и контроля за состоянием запасов, заключающийся в разбиении номенклатуры n всех потребляемых ресурсов материальных, реализуемых товарно-материальных ценностей и др. на три собственных неравномощных подмн-ва a, b и c (n = a b c; a b c = 0), или класса эквивалентности на основании некоторого формального алгоритма. алгоритм разбиения может быть, напр. след. подсчитывается общее кол-во заявок, поступивших за определенный период, и делится на общее кол-во позиций в номенклатуре n, в результате чего выводится показатель среднего кол-ва заявок p на одну позицию номенклатуры n. все материальные ресурсы, кол-во заявок на которые в 6 и более раз превышает p, включаются в подмн-во a. в подмн-во c включаются все материальные ресурсы, кол-во заявок на которые в 2 и более раза меньше р. все остальные материальные ресурсы включаются в подмн-во b (b = (n a) c). в свою очередь подмн-ва a, b и с могут рассматриваться как упорядоченные мн-ва (a = , b = , c = ). элементами этих упорядоченных мн-в могут быть как конкретные виды материальных ресурсов, так и их первичные группировки < ai > а; < bi > b; < ci > c. напр., в системе снабжения запасными частями ai1 может представлять резинотехн. изделия, ai2 - крепежные и т.д. вероятность возникновения спроса на материальные ресурсы из подмн-в a, b и c подчинена различным законам распределения. установлено, что в большинстве пром. и торговых фирм примерно 75% стоимости запасов охватывает около 10% наименований номенклатуры (подмн-во a), 20% стоимости - соответственно 25% наименований (подмн-во b), 5% стоимости - 65% наименований (подмн-во c). метод abc широко используется при планировании размещения запасов в разл. эшелонах логистических систем, в системах снабжения запасными частями, в автоматизированных трансп.-складских системах и др.
