  1. A fore-and-aft or gaff-rigged sail on the aft-most mast of a square-rigged vessel and the main fore-and-aft sail (spanker sail) on the aft-most mast of a (partially) fore-and-aft rigged vessel such as a schooner, a barquentine, and a barque.

  2. A fore-and-aft sail, setting with a boom and gaff, frequently called the driver (which see). it is the aftermost sail of a ship or bark.

  3. A quadrilateral fore-and-aft sail set on the aftermost mast of a square-rigged vessel.

Bermuda sloop, английский
