Monochromator, английский
- Device that uses prisms or gratings to separate or disperse the wavelengths of the spectrum into one band.
- Device that uses prisms or gratings to select and separate a single wavelength (in other words, monochromatic) of the electromagnetic spectrum. a monochromator is often used to transmit a desired narrow band of light or energy. see also spectrofluorometer.
