- A diffuser is an aromatherapy device that gently dispenses essential oils into the air.
- A device used to reduce the velocity and increasing the static pressure of a fluid passing through a system.

- Fishing vessels shifting their quarters while fishing. this word is often used for reeming (which see).
- Caulker’s term for opening-up the seams of planking to better permit filling with oakum (also reeming). reaming-beetle: the heaviest caulking mallet. reaming-iron: an iron wedge used to open up seams for caulking. also rasing-iron.
- The act or process of enlarging a borehole.
- Further plying of a two-ply yarn with a singles yarn. reaming is not the same as plying three singles yarns in one operation.
