    Chrominance, английский
    1. A color term defining the hue and saturation of a color. does not refer to brightness.

    2. The color information of a color video signal.

    3. Color part of the composite video signal. also called c. separately transmitted in y/c (s-video). it is the combination of the two color difference signals (u or r-y) and (v or b-y) modulated on to a subcarrier. see also yuv.

    4. The color information of a color video signal. -to-luminance intermodulatlon (crosstalk, cross-modulation)an undesirable change in luminance amplitude caused by superimposition of some chrominance information on the luminance signal. appears in a tv picture as unwarranted brightness variations caused by changes in color saturation levels.




    Color palette, английский
    1. A palette is the set of available colors. for a given application, the palette may be only a subset of all the colors that can be physically displayed. for example, many computer systems can display 16 million unique colors, but a given program would use only 256 of them at a time if the display were in 256-color mode. the computer system`s palette, therefore, would consist of the 16 million colors, but the program`s palette would only contain the 256-color subset.
