Insolubles

Oil glossary
  1. Particles of carbon or agglomerates of carbon and other material. indicates deposition or dispersant drop-out in an engine. not serious in a compressor or gearbox unless there has been a rapid increase in these particles.

  2. Contaminants found in used oils due to dust, dirt, wear particles or oxidation products. often measured as pentane, toluene or benzene insolubles to characterise the nature of the insoluble material.

Deposition, английский
  1. Отложение; осаждение; осаждённый [напылённый] слой ~ of soil отсыпка грунта

  2. The laying down of any material by any agent such as wind, water, ice or by other natural processes. hp

Dispersant, английский
  1. In lubrication, a term usually used interchangeably with detergent. an additive, usually nonmetallic ("ashless"), which keeps fine particles of insoluble materials in a homogeneous solution. hence, particles are not permitted to settle out and accumulate.

  2. An admixture which is capable of maintaining finely ground materials in suspension; used as a slurry thinner or grinding aid.

  3. A dispersing agent, often of a surface active chemical, that promotes formation of a dispersion or maintains a state of dispersion by preventing settling or aggregation.

  4. An additive that keeps insoluble contaminants dispersed (colloidally suspended) in a lubricant, preventing the particles from settling and accumulating. dispersants help prevent the buildup of sludge, varnish and other deposits.

  5. A non-metallic engine oil additive that helps to prevent sludge, varnish, etc., by keeping particles suspended in a colloidal state. similar to and ordinarily used with detergents, dispersants are capable of keeping large quantities of particles in suspension, and they are ashless when burned.

Compressor, английский
  1. Compresseur;surpresseur

  2. A mechanical device that pressurizes a gas in order to turn it into a liquid, thereby allowing heat to be removed or added. a compressor is the main component of conventional heat pumps and air conditioners. in an air conditioning system, the compressor n

  3. Part of a split-system heat pump or air conditioner’s outdoor unit that controls the pressure applied to the refrigerant so that it can circulate. it plays a vital role in taking in heat to warm your home with a heat pump or getting rid of heat to keep yo

  4. In an air conditioner this is known as

  5. The compressor plays an integral role in cooling your home. it is the device responsible for pumping refrigerant through the refrigerant lines and the coil, making the transfer of heat from inside your house to the outdoors possible. rheem uses high-quali

  6. A device which converts mechanical force and motion into pneumatic fluid power.

  7. Компрессор

  8. A machine for compressing air or other gases which is a basic component in some refrigeration systems; draws vaporized refrigerant from the evaporator at a relatively low pressure, compresses it, and then discharges it to a condenser. compressor-type liquid chiller equipment utilizing a compressor, condensor, evaporator, controls, and accessories to cool water or other secondary liquid. compression coupling compression faucet

  9. A mechanism generally adopted afloat for facilitating the working of the large guns recently introduced; the gun-carriage is thus compressed to its slide or platform during the recoil, and set free again by the turn of a handle for running up. it is of various forms; one of the simpler kind used to be always applied to carronade slides.

  10. Система сжатия данных; компрессор

  11. A signal processor that reduces dynamic range by using automatic volume control. also, an amplifier whose gain decreases as the input signal level increases above a pre-set point.

  12. An air pump, usually electrically driven, which supplies air under pressure (generally between 90 and 140 psi) for use on trains. brakes, doors and other items of equipment like suspension and whistles commonly require compressed air. compressors may be driven directly off a diesel engine or from an electrical supply on the locomotive or train. see the brakes page for more details.

  13. An engine that is used to increase natural gas pressure so that it can more easily flow through the pipeline.

Contaminant, английский
  1. Any foreign or unwanted substance that can have a negative effect on system operation, life or reliability.

  2. A substance that is either present in an environment where it does not belong or is present at levels that might cause harmful (adverse) health effects.

  3. A substance which contaminates something

  6. Any foreign substance on the surface of a part, in a discontinuity or in the inspection materials, that adversely affects an inspection.

  7. Any foreign substance — on the surface of a part, in a discontinuity, or in the inspection materials — that adversely affects an inspection. see also clean; water break free. compare impurity.

Intensifier, английский
A device which converts low pressure fluid power into higher pressure fluid power.

Inside-mounted seal, английский
A mechanical seal located inside the seal chamber with the pumped product’s pressure at its o.d.
