Chute, английский
- Outfeed portion of a chipper. also known as a discharge spout (23).

- An open-top trough through which bulk materials are conveyed and lowered by gravity.

- A fall of water or rapid; the word is much used in north america, wherever the nomenclature of the country retains traces of the early french settlers. (see shoot.)

- A ditch or inclined timber trough through which the overflow water or mud from a borehole is conducted from the collar of the hole to the sump. the chute may be fitted with baffles and screens to cause the cuttings to settle in the chute before reaching the sump. also called canal, ditch.
- An underground raise, shaft, or inclined trough conducting ore by gravity from a higher to a lower level. also, incorrectly spelled shoot.
- In cattle events, a fenced lane that contains a single cow behind a gate.

[3] in naval mine warfare, a towed device that submerges and planes at a predetermined depth without sideways displacement.

Косые паруса треугольной формы, обычно ставятся впереди мачты. передней шкаториной опираются на штаг. отличие стакселя от кливера в том, что нижняя шкаторина стакселя расположена над палубой, а у кливера — вне палубы.

Верхняя лёгкая палуба, простиравшаяся от форштевня до ахтерштевня и располагавшаяся выше главной палубы. в настоящее время спардеком часто называют средние надстройки на судах.
