Overhead, английский

- The ceiling of any enclosed space below decks in a vessel, essentially the bottom of the deck above you.

- American term for an interior ceiling in a ship (cf. deckhead).

- A ceiling or roof of a vessel.
- Work or information that provides support - possibly critical support-for a computing process but is not an intrinsic part of the operation or data. overhead often adds to processing time but is generally necessary.
- The expenses of a business that are not attributable directly to the production or sale of goods.
- Generic term (as in "the overhead") referring to electric traction supply wires suspended over the track for current collection by trains. also known as "overhead line", "ole" (overhead line equipment), or catenary after the line suspension system. current is collected by a pantograph on the roof of the train or locomotive.
