Offset bend

Глоссарий по архитектуре и конструкциям
In a reinforcing bar, any bend that displaces the center line of a section of the bar to a position parallel to the original bar (the displacement usually is relatively small); commonly used in reinforced concrete columns.

Bend, английский
  1. The angle made between the extension of the centre line of one rail and the centre line of the adjacent rail in the horizontal plane.

  2. Подтяжка струны на блюзовой гитаре, имитирующая плач или стон (впоследствии также - повышение или понижение ноты на духовом инструменте с помощью губ).

  3. Изгиб; колено

  4. A knot used to join two ropes or lines. see also hitch.

  5. To attach a sail to a spar or a headstay or to attach a line to a sail.

  6. The chock of the bowsprit.

  7. [1] to attach a sail, line, cable, or signal flag with a knot. [2] the knot itself (e.g., sheet bend; carrick bend). [3] a curve in a river.

  8. The turn at the bottom of the hook.

Bend line, английский

Bend lines, английский

Bend loss, английский
  1. Increased attenuation due to macrobends (curvature of fiber) or microbends (small distortions in the fiber) coupling light energy from the fiber core to the cladding

  2. Потери на изгибе

Bend losses, английский
Propagation losses in an optical fiber (or other waveguide) caused by bending

Bend on the tack, английский
In hoisting signals, that piece of rope called the distant line—which keeps the flags so far asunder that they are not confused. also, in setting free sails, the studding-sail tack, &c.

Bend or twist, английский

Bend over, английский
    Inclinarse, agacharse

Bend pulley, английский

Bend radius, английский
  1. The smallest radius an optical fiber or fiber cable can bend before excessive attenuation or breakage occurs.

  2. The smallest radius of curvature into which a material can be bent without damage.

  3. Радиус изгиба

Displacement, английский
  1. Перемещение

  2. Водоизмещение

  3. The weight of water displaced by the immersed volume of a ship`s hull, exactly equivalent to the weight of the whole ship.

  4. The weight, in tons of 2,240 pounds, of the vessel and its contents. calculated by dividing the volume of water displaced in cubic feet by 35, the average density of sea water.

  5. Перемещение, сдвиг, весовое водоизмещение,

  6. The fact of being moved out of the usual position fracture of the radius together with displacement of the wrist

  7. Водоизмещение судна

  8. Водоизмещение; водоизмещающее плавание

  9. The centre of gravity of the displacement relates to the part of the ship under water, considered as homogeneous. the weight of water which a vessel displaces when floating is the same as the weight of the ship. (see centre of cavity.)

  10. Weight of a vessel expressed as either the number of long tons, or the cubic feet of water, displaced by the hull (1 ton = 35 cu.ft of seawater or 35.9 cu.ft of fresh).

  11. The volume of liquid delivered by a single stroke of a pump piston.

  12. Sometimes used as a synonym for offset deflec tion, deviation, dislocation, throw.

  13. The capacity of an air compressor, usually ex pressed in cubic feet of air per minute (c.f.m.).

  14. The weight of water dislocated by the hull of a vessel.

  15. The weight of a boat measured according to the weight of water it displaces. a boat displaces an amount of water equal to the weight of the boat, so the boat’s displacement and weight are identical.

  16. Изменение линейного или углового положения* перемещение, отклонение органа управления

  17. The product of stroke and of cylinder bore and number of cylinders of an engine, representing the theoretical volume of (incompressible) working fluid that can be drawn into an engine with each cycle. see also capacity and swept volume. 45

  18. Displacement is where you change your nearest relative. the process of changing the nearest relative is often known as ‘displacement proceedings’. your nearest relative can be displaced if you or the local authority have concerns about the way that they are behaving. see our pages on the nearest relative for more information.

Relatively, английский

Reinforced, английский
  1. Усиленный; упрочненный; подкрепленный

  2. T-beam a concrete t-beam that has been reinforced with steel rod before the concrete is poured. reinforcement 1. in reinforced concrete, metal bars, rods, wires, or other slender members which are embedded in concrete in such a manner that the metal and the concrete act together in resisting forces. 2. material added to provide additional strength.

Carpet repeat, английский
In a roll of carpet which has a pattern, the distance from a specific point in a pattern figure to the same place where the figure occurs again, as measured lengthwise along the carpeting. carpet strip 1. a molding used to fasten the edge of carpeting. 2. a strip of wood (approximately equal to the carpet thickness) installed on the floor at the threshold of a door.
