Convection

In physics, convection is the transport and mixing of properties (energy, heat, moisture, etc.) of a fluid by mass motion of that fluid. in meteorology, convection generally refers to such transport and mixing in the vertical direction, and advection refers to processes in the horizontal plane.

Convection, английский
  1. Convection

  2. Currents created by heating air, which then rises and pulls cooler air behind it. also see radiation.

  3. The transfer of energy through a liquid or gas due to the motion of the medium.

  4. Конвекция

  5. Heat transmission, either natural or forced (by means of a fan), by currents of air control joint control-joint grouting the injection of grout into a control joint.

  6. The rising of heated surface air.

  8. The transfer of heat that results from motion of a fluid (gas or liquid).

  9. The transfer of heat energy through gasses and liquids by the amount and mixing of those fluids.

  10. Heat transfer by circulation within a medium such as a gas or a liquid.

  11. Heat transfer by circulation within a medium such as gas or a liquid.

  12. Type of heat transfer that takes place in a moving medium and is almost always associated with transfer between a solid (surface) and a moving fluid (such as air), whereby energy is transferred from higher temperature sites to lower temperature sites.3

  13. Type of heat transfer that takes place in a moving medium and is almost always associated with transfer between a solid (surface) and a moving fluid (such as air), whereby energy is transferred from higher temperature sites to lower temperature sites. compare conduction; radiation.

Properties, английский
  1. A dockable window that displays the properties that are set on the selected object. in most cases, the property values can be edited in the window.

  2. A ui element that users can click to display information about a selected object.

Meteorology, английский
  1. Метеорология

  2. The study of the processes and phenomena of the earth’s atmosphere, especially insofar as they facilitate forecasting weather conditions.

  3. Метеорология. наука об атмосфере (вмо). она занимается изучением химии и физики атмосферы, в том числе вопросов взаимодействия атмосферы с земной поверхностью и поведения загрязнителей воздуха после их поступления в атмосферу. 91

Horizontal, английский
  1. Горизонталь; горизонтальный

  2. Горизонталь; горизонтальный 287

  3. At right angles to the direction of gravity; on the level; parallel to the horizon; neither vertical nor inclined.

  4. A direction parallel to the horizon, or what is commonly termed lying flat. one of the greatest inconveniences navigators have to struggle with is the frequent want of a distinct sight of the horizon. to obviate this a horizontal spinning speculum was adopted by mr. lerson, who was lost in the victory man-of-war, in which ship he was sent out to make trial of his instrument. this was afterwards improved by smeaton, and consists of a well-polished metal speculum about 3-1/2 inches in diameter, inclosed within a circular rim of brass, so fitted that the centre of gravity of the whole shall fall near the point on which it spins. this is the end of a steel axis running through the centre of the speculum, above which it finishes in a square for the convenience of fitting a

Height contours, английский
Isolines which denote the distribution of equal heights of a particular atmospheric pressure on a constant-pressure map

Snowbelt, английский
In general, any area where topographical influences favour increased accumulation of snow over the surrounding region. usually refers to the areas around large lakes such as the great lakes where lake-effect snows produce significantly enhanced winter accumulations.
