Ballahou, английский
- A sharp-floored fast-sailing schooner, with taunt fore-and-aft sails, and no top-sails, common in bermuda and the west indies. the fore-mast of the ballahou rakes forward, the main-mast aft.
- [1] a fast-sailing west indian schooner, with no topsails, forward raked foremast and backward sloped mainmast. [2] the term was sometimes applied to men-of-war in which the masts were not properly stayed, or which were slovenly in other respects.
