Disk bottleneck

Глоссарий ИТ-терминов
A condition that occurs when disk performance is reduced to the extent that overall system performance is affected.

Bottleneck, английский
  1. An area that has a limited allowance for the movement of trains through it. for an example, four tracks converging into two then back into four tracks is a bottleneck due to the reduced number of tracks which limits the number of trains that can travel through such an area at any one time. bottlenecks can be problematic in peak periods or when extra services are required than what can pass through without delays (ie waiting for a train to overtake and pass).

  2. Критический элемент

  3. Критический элемент; "узкое место" в системе; критический параметр

  4. A point at which the performance or capacity of an entire system or network can be significantly influenced. formally, a bottleneck lies on a network or system’s critical path and provides the lowest throughput.

  5. A location on the network where the number of train movements is close to, or projected to exceed the capacity of that location (same as pinch point)

Bottleneck facility, английский
  1. A point on the electric system, such as a transmission line, through which all electricity must pass to get to its intended buyers. if there is limited capacity at this point, some priorities must be developed to decide whose power gets through. it also must be decided if the owner of the bottleneck may, or must, build additional facilities to relieve the constraint.

  2. A point on a network (such as a power system) through which all service products (like electricity) must pass to reach the ultimate buyers. when there is limited capacity at this point, decisions are necessary to prioritize deliveries (allocate capacity) and determine whether to build additional facilities to relieve the constraint.

Bottleneck machine, английский
Станок, о пре делящий производительность (напр., гибкой производственной системы); узкое место производства

Bottleneckfacility, английский

Disk, английский
  1. (crop science) an tractor-drawn implement composed of circular plates arranged at an angle with the soil. used to prepare the soil for seeding.

  3. Preferred usage (spelling) of the term for reference to magnetic media, such as floppy and hard disks.

  4. A flat circular plate, coated with a magnetic material, on which data may be stored by selective magnetization of portions of the surface. may be a flexible, floppy disc or rigid hard disk. it could also be a plastic compact disc (cd) or digital video disc (dvd).
