Sometimes simply called “pitch”; the measure of tooth size, equal to the number of teeth divided by the pitch diameter. mating gears have the same diametral pitch. dielectric strength (astm d-877): measures the capacity of an insulating material to withstand electric stress (voltage) without failure. fluids with high dielectric strength (usually expressed in kv) are good electrical insulators.
