    After arrest, instead of releasing you on bail with conditions, the police can decide to release you under investigation (often referred to as `rui`). this is not the same as being released on bail, as you do not have any conditions and there is no date upon which you must return to the police station. being released under investigation does not mean that the police have decided to take no further action against you. it simply means that they are continuing their investigation.
