- (от лат . vibratio - колебание), механические колебания в технике (машинах, механизмах, конструкциях и пр.). полезная вибрация возбуждается преднамеренно вибраторами (рабочими органами вибрационных машин) и используется в строительстве, машиностроении, медицине и т. п. вредная вибрация возникает, напр., при движении транспортных средств, работе двигателей, турбин и т. д. и может привести к нарушению режимов работы и к разрушению. для защиты от вибраций применяют виброизоляцию. действие вибраций на организм может быть как благотворным, так и вредным (вибрационная болезнь) в зависимости от частоты вибраций.
