    Parallax

Parallax, английский
  1. Параллакс

  2. An effect seen in closeup photography where the viewfinder does not see the same as the lens due to the offset of the viewfinder and the lens. this is a non-issue if using the lcd as a viewfinder or if your camera is a slr type.

  3. The disparity between viewing and imaging angles when they are not identical, as with sports finders or twin-lens cameras.

  4. The difference between the image, as seen by a camera’s viewing system, and the image recorded by the imaging sensor. in point-and-shoot cameras, this variance increases as subjects move closer to the lens. only through-the-lens (ttl) viewing systems are adjusted to avoid parallax error.

  5. An effect seen in close-up photography where the viewfinder does not see the same as the lens. this is normally due to the offset of the viewfinder and lens. this is not an issue if you are using the lcd as a viewfinder or if your camera is an slr..

  6. The relative motion on one object with respect to another as the position of the observer’s eye is moved from one position to another, or when the object is viewed alternately with one eye and then the other.

  7. Ошибка из-за параллакса error

  8. An apparent change in the position of an object, arising from a change of the observer`s station, and which diminishes with the altitude of an object in the vertical circle. its effect is greatest in the horizon, where it is termed the horizontal parallax, and vanishes entirely in the zenith. the positions of the planets and comets, as viewed from the surface of the earth, differ from those they would occupy if observed from its centre by the amount of parallax, the due application of which is an important element. the stars are so distant that their positions are the same from whatever part of the earth they are seen; but attempts have been made to detect the amount of variation in their places, when observed from opposite points of the earth`s orbit, the minute result of which is termed the annual parallax; and the former effect, due to the observer`s station on our globe, is called the diurnal parallax.

  9. The error which can result from not viewing an instrument directly from its front, due to separation of the indicator (needle) from the scale being read.

  10. Apparent difference in position of an imaged point according to two differently positioned sensors.
