Chain locker

  1. A compartment usually at the forward end of a ship which is used to store the anchor chain; the cable chain goes in and out through a hawse pipe

  2. A space in the forward part of the ship, typically beneath the bow in front of the foremost collision bulkhead, that contains the anchor chain when the anchor is secured for sea.
