Victory, английский
Launched in 1765, nelson’s 104-gun flagship at the 1805 battle of trafalgar is the oldest naval ship still in commission. she sits in dry dock in portsmouth as a museum ship.
Victory ship, английский
A mass-producible world war ii cargo ship of 15,200 displacement tons, designed by the u.s. maritime commission as a longer range, larger and faster replacement for the liberty ship, with better post-war commercial potential. their speed of 15 to 17 knots (28 to 31 km/h)—compared to 11 knots (20 km/h)—made them less easy prey to u-boats, they were oil fired, although some canadian-built vessels were designed to use coal or oil. they also had strengthened hulls compared to liberty ships, since some of the latter had suffered fractured hulls.
