                Pertaining to data that represents a set of observations and their associated space-time regions, typically on the earth.
              observational noise
                The error between the true value in a system and its observed value due to imprecision in measurement. also called measurement noise. see: dynamical noise.

              2. A type of scientific study that involves measurement of study subjects on variables hypothesized to be associated with the outcome of interest, but without any manipulation of the subjects
