- The person to whom cargo is consigned as stated on the bills of lading.
- The person to whom cargo is consigned as stated on the bills of lading or air way bills.
- The individual or company to whom a seller or sipper sends merchandise and who, upon presentation of necessary documents, is recognized as the merchandise owner for the purpose of declaring and paying customs duties
- The party to whose care a ship or a consignment of goods is intrusted.
- The person or organization to whom something is consigned.
- The person or entity transferring legal responsibility or ownership of the cargo (or consignment) from the carrier.
- The party named in the bill of lading to whom delivery is promised and/or title is passed.
