Byte, английский
- A group of eight bits.
- Байт
- A digital word made of 8 bits (zeros and ones).
- An ensemble of eight bits of memory in a computer.
- A group of bits treated as a unit used to represent a character in some coding systems. the values of the bits can be varied to form as many as 256 permutations. hence, one byte of memory can represent an integer from 0 to 255 or from -127 to +128. the unit of computer memory typically consists of eight bits; 64k, 64,000 bytes or 64 kilobytes.
- Primary and secondary memory (ram and magnetic media) are measured in kilobytes (1,024, or 210 bytes) and megabytes (one million bytes). glossary/13 c
- A digital word made of 8 bits (zeros and ones). 6 / 43 c
- One segment of digital information; usually 8, 16, or 32 bits equal to a single character. defined with a capital “b” as opposed to “bits”, which uses a lowercase “b”
- Eight bits of digital data. (sometimes parity and check bits are included, so one "byte" may include 10 bits, but only 8 of them are data.) c
- A collection of 8-bits of memory in a computer. i.e. 8 bits is a byte, 1000 bytes is a kilobyte (kb) or 8000 bytes, 1000kb is a megabyte (mb) or 8,000,000 bytes and so on.
- Байт byte-addressable с байтовой адресацией byte-addressed с байтовой адресацией
- A group of eight adjacent bits recognized as a single unit. a byte can represent characters, numbers, punctuation or any special codes. bytes are to computers what words are to humans.
