Umbilical cord, английский
A cord containing two arteries and one vein which links the fetus inside the uterus to the placenta comment: the arteries carry the blood and nutrients from the placenta to the fetus and the vein carries the waste from the fetus back to the placenta. when the baby is born, the umbilical cord is cut and the end tied in a knot. after a few days, this drops off, leaving the navel marking the place where the cord was originally attached.
