This is a phrase that has come to have several meanings. in the broadest sense it includes any color found naturally on earth and includes an entire array of colors. it can also mean any color that includes the natural colors of the earth`s ground, originally containing clay, pigments creating colors such as umber, ochre, sand, and sienna. more generally, earth tones, may be used to describe to any neutral or low chroma color.
