- , композиции на основе веществ, способных соединять (склеивать) материалы. действие клея основано на образовании между ними и склеиваемыми материалами адгезионной связи (см. адгезия). для органических клеев из синтетических полимеров (напр., полиэфирных, эпоксидных, феноло-формальдегидных смол) характерны высокая прочность склеивания и стойкость в различных средах. клеи из природных полимеров (напр., коллагена, альбумина, камедей, крахмала) отличаются невысокой устойчивостью к действию воды и микроорганизмов. к неорганическим клеям относятся керамические, силикатные и др. клеи могут быть жидкими (напр., растворы, эмульсии) и твердыми (пленки, порошки, прутки); последние расплавляют перед употреблением или наносят на нагретые поверхности.
