Scuppers, английский
- Drain holes on deck, in the toe rail, or in bulwarks or (with drain pipes) in the deck itself.
- Originally a series of pipes fitted through the ship`s side from inside the thicker deck waterway to the topside planking to drain water overboard, larger quantities drained through freeing ports, which were openings in the bulwarks.

- Round apertures cut through the water ways and sides of a ship at proper distances, and lined with metal, in order to carry the water off the deck into the sea.
