Girdle reflection

Diamond Glossary (алмазы и бриллианты - глоссарий терминологии)
A girdle reflection is caused by the pavilion facets, and appears to be at first glance a crack or feather inclusion in the stone. by tilting your diamond at different angles, the girdle reflection can shift in its position. the size of the reflection is proportional to the girdle thickness of your diamond. depending on your diamond’s proportions, you might see a thinner or thicker reflection.

Girdle, английский
  1. A circle of girls found in malls and high school halls, usually obstructing passage. example i ran into a girdle, so i was late for class.

  2. To encircle a tree with ax cuts or a saw kerf to sever the bark and cambium layer, thus killing the tree (24).

  3. A band, usually horizontal; esp. one ringing the shaft of a column.

  4. A set of bones making a ring or arch girdlestone’s operation girdlestone’s operation / &! d?lst??nz ?p?re??(?)n/

  5. An additional planking over the wales or bends. also, a frapping for girding a ship.

  6. To improve the buoyancy and stability of a wooden ship by adding planking along the waterline.

  7. A diamond’s girdle sits above the pavilion and beneath the crown. it is sometimes rough, but more often is faceted or polished.

  8. Narrow band which circumscribes the edge of the plane separating the crown and pavilion of a polished diamond. the girdle can be bruted, faceted or polished.

  9. The girdle is a thin perimeter line that runs around a diamond, dividing the crown above from the pavilion below. ideally the width of the girdle should be even and proportional to the cut of the stone. a girdle can be polished or unpolished and usually has no impact on the appearance or value of the diamond.

Girdle, английский

Girdle case, английский

Girdle percentage, английский
The measurement describing the percentage of the diamonds average girdle diameter.

Girdle, zone, cincture, sash, английский

Reflect, английский
  1. A gradient brush option that makes the gradient repeat in alternating reflections.

  2. To copy driver binaries, install services, and add registry keys for one or more drivers from a driver package onto a system, without the context of a specific device. a system can be booted from reflected drivers, however full device installation may still be required in order to enable full driver functionality.

Reflect prevention sheet, английский

Reflectance, английский
  1. The percentage of light that is reflected from an object. spectrophotometers measure an object's reflectance at various intervals along the visible spectrum to determine the object color's spectral curve. see spectral curve, spectral data.

  2. The ratio of light returned from a surface expressed as a percentage.

  3. Отражательная способность

  4. The percentage of light reflected from a component, such as a connector, splice, splitter, or wdm

  5. The ratio of the reflected flux to the flux incident on a surface. reflectance coefficient, reflectance factor

  6. Коэффициент отражения, отражательная способность

  7. Ratio of reflected wave energy to incident wave energy. also known as reflectivity.

Reflectance (or reflection factor), английский
Отражательная способность (или коэффициент отражения). отношение потока лучистой энергии (или света), отражаемой данной поверхностью, к потоку лучистой энергии (или света), падающему на эту поверхность.

Reflectance pattern, английский
A reflectance pattern is an observation whose attributes have been normalized so that their values add up to one. see also: ann, normalization.

Reflectance reflectivity, английский
The ratio of the reflected radiant power to the incident radiant power.

Reflectance. light-reflective glass, английский

Reflectancia, испанский

Reflectancia ., испанский

Reflectancia del nivel de base ., испанский

Reflected, английский

Reflected glare, английский
  1. Relatively bright light that does not enter the eye directly from the light source, but after it has been deflected by a surface which the direct light has illuminated. it can be either diffuse or specular.

  2. Glare resulting from specular reflection of high brightness in polished or glossy surfaces in the field of view. also

Reflected light, английский
  1. Scene illumination multiplied by reflectance. this is the amount of light returned to the camera and determines the quality of picture.

  2. Various surfaces in a scene reflect between 1% and 95% of the incident light. specular surfaces will reflect it narrowly. diffuse (rough, irregular, or matte) surfaces scatter it. also see: glare and bounce light for further reflections.

Reflected light meter, английский
A meter that reads light reflected from the subject. all in-camera meters are of this type.

Reflected light meter (rlm), английский
An rlm reads light that is reflected from a scene. aim these meters at the subject or scene or a gray card from the direction of the camera. also see: spot meter and 18% assumption*.

Reflection, английский
  1. The abrupt change in direction of a light beam at an interface between two dissimilar media that returns the beam into the medium where it originated, i.e., a mirror

  2. A light ray incident on an air to glass interface will have some of its energy redirected back toward its origin due to reflection at the interface.

  3. The return of radiant energy (incident light) by a surface, with no change in wavelength.

  4. The bouncing off of light which falls upon a surface.

  5. The change of direction which a ray of light, sound, or radiant heat undergoes when it strikes a surface; also

  6. 1. the image of somebody or something which is seen in a mirror or still water 2. the process of reflecting something, especially light, sound or heat 3. careful thought 4. a situation in which an anatomical structure bends back upon itself

  7. The process of obtaining information about assemblies and the types defined within them, and creating, invoking, and accessing type instances at run time.

  8. When light bounces back from a surface

  9. General term for the process by which the incident energy leaves a surface or medium from the incident side, without change in frequency. reflection is usually a combination of specular and diffuse reflection.2,6

  10. General term for the process by which the incident energy leaves a surface or medium from the incident side, without change in frequency. reflection is usually a combination of specular and diffuse reflection (iesna 1984). see also diffuse reflection; specular reflection.

  11. The act of thinking deeply about one`s actions, behaviour`s, and progress, often facilitated by a coach or mentor to promote self-awareness and learning.
