Drill column

  1. A length of steel pipe equipped with a flat cap at one end and a jack screw on the opposite end by means of which the pipe can be wedged securely in a vertical or horizontal position across an underground opening to serve as a base on which to mount a small diamond or rock drill. also called bar, drifter bar, drill bar, jack bar.

  2. A synonym for drill stem.
