Gamma ramp

Глоссарий ИТ-терминов
A lookup table (lut) of numeric values that is used to compensate for a particular monitor’s color response. the table has three parts (one each for red, green, and blue), and each part has 256 lookup values. a gamma ramp is used to map the range of possible intensities for each color to a limited number (256) of values. an independent hardware vendor (ihv) chooses these values so that the transition from one color intensity to the next is as smooth as possible (since the eye perceives changes in light intensity nonlinearly). gamp (n)

Gamma, английский
  1. Гамма

  2. Коэффициент “гамма”. показатель скорости изменения дельты в результате незначительных колебаний цены базовых акций. гамма принимает максимальное значение, когда цена лежащих в основе опциона акций приближается к цене страйк, и стремится к нулю, своему мин

  3. A numerical value, or the degree of contrast in a television picture, which is the exponent of that power law which is used to approximate the curve of output magnitude versus input magnitude over the region of interest.

  4. A correction of the linear response of a camera in order to compensate for the monitor

  5. Correction law introduced in the camera output signal to compensate for the non-linearity of the crt (cathode ray tube) in video monitors. a typical gamma value is 0.45, which results in the brightness component of the crt picture appearing to be linear.

  6. A measure of the amount of contrast found in an image according to the properties of a gradation curve. high contrast has high gamma and low contrast low gamma.

  7. A correction of the linear response of a camera in order to compensate for the monitor phosphor screen nonlinear response. it is measured with the exponential value of the curve describing the non-linearity. a typical monochrome monitor’s gamma is 2.2, and a camera needs to be set to the inverse value of 2.2 (which is 0.45) for the overall system to respond linearly (i.e., unity).

  8. The brightness curve of the color spectrum as displayed (or reproduced) on a computer monitor, a printer or scanner.

  9. Measure of the amount of contrast in an image according to the properties of a gradation curve. high contrast = high gamma and low = low.

  10. The third letter of the greek alphabet

  11. The ratio of a change in the option delta to a small change in the price of the asset on which the option is written.

  2. Гамма-коррекция, коррекция градации тонов на изображении, обычно с помощью изменения градационных кривых

  3. Gamma correction controls and adjusts the overall brightness of an image for consistency.

  4. To provide for a linear transfer characteristic from input to output device.

  5. An electronic correction carried out by the camera circuitry to balance the brightness seen by the camera to that of the monitor.

  6. In reference to displaying an image accurately on a computer screen, gamma correction controls the overall brightness of an image. images which are not properly corrected can look either bleached out, or too dark. for more info on gamma, go here

  7. With reference to displaying an image accurately on a computer screen, gamma correction controls the overall brightness of an image. images which are not properly corrected can look either too dark or bleached out.
