The on-screen design plan for a publication created on page layout software by specifying paper size, margins, column widths which show on the screen as nonprinting guides. (see: grid) leaders a series of dots in line, often used to ‘lead’ the eye in from one column to another. used also in form design to indicate areas which have to be filled in by the user - e.g. name and address panels.
